St. John's Lutheran Church

This was the first year St. John’s had a float in the Holiday Dazzle Parade. We used the stained glass panels that were spotlighted. We had the BIG paper mache’ hands filled with hay, quilts & kids. We played Christmas music as loud as the speakers would go-not loud enough. We had older kids (& one old lady) walking along side to pass out candy & ice scrapers. We even had a couple great danes!! The biggest regret? We didn’t get any decent pictures to post or even print. Camera not fancy enough to take pics in the dark–but, we won a prize! St John’s won the trophy for Most Outstanding Amateur Built. We NEVER expected that! We are already making plans for next years float. We’ve set a precedent. Many thanks to Glen Striefel, Dan Dockter, Dave Gasal, Cheryl Eslick & Steve Hallberg. Most especially, thank you to God for giving us the vision.

The Evangelism Board hosted a great turn-out for the Rally Day Breakfast on Sept 11. We served over 150 people who greatly enjoyed the French toast & sausage links. The theme was Jesus’ feeding of the 5000. We had loaves (French toast) & fishes (goldfish crackers scattered on the tables). We also remembered those who served & those who died 10 years ago on this day.
